“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.”
I was recently watching a show called Forensic Files. One of the cases involved a woman (let’s call her April) who was having an affair with a man and another woman (let’s call this woman Sandra). These three individuals regularly met up for threesomes. Things begin to go wrong within the threesome and the man convinced “Sandra” to kill “April”. The plan was carried out and it was successful. April was killed by Sandra one night as she was leaving church. Yes I said church. April was a regular church goer, married with two children and her life ended tragically because of a bad decision.
In today’s text we read that whatever we sow we will reap. This applies to good just as well as bad. If we sow good seeds we will reap good seeds. If we sow bad seeds we will reap bad seeds. A seed is small when planted into the ground. Once it germinate the end result is always larger than how it started out. If I plant one apple seed an apple tree with hundreds of apples will be the end results. Sowing and reaping is applied to every aspect of our lives. It is evident in parenting, friendships, school work, jobs, and so on. Whatever we sow we will reap a greater harvest. Every decision we make is sowing a seed. As the text says when we sow to our flesh we will reap corruption but when we sow to the Spirit we will reap everlasting life. What do you want to reap in your life? #LivingTheLife
