But Christ died for us while we were still sinners, and by this God showed how much he loves us. Romans 5:8 (ERV)
I wonder what it was like the Sabbath (Saturday) Jesus was in the tomb. The Sabbath must have been really gloomy for His followers but satisfying for His haters. Now that the crowds had gone back to their homes the only people remaining at Jesus’ grave were the security guards ordered by his haters.
The many people that had followed Jesus just the day before were out of sight for fear that they too would be killed.
It amazes me how none of His followers stuck around to see His resurrection in person. Perhaps they didn’t believe that He would rise as He said He would.
As horrible as the death of Jesus was it’s difficult to fathom that He had to go through all that for me, for you.
As He cried out to His father literally hours before His death He focused on His purpose in life. His purpose was to save His creation by dying for our sin. Just thinking about His unselfish, indescribable love bring tears to my eyes. Jesus knew He had to do this in order to reconcile us back to Him and the Father.
What is your purpose? We all have one and it’s significant that we fulfill it. If you don’t know what yours is ask God and read His word daily until He reveals it to you.
Can you imagine if Jesus had not fulfilled His purpose in life? We would have no opportunity at forgiveness nor eternal life. Us knowing and fulfilling our purpose in life is just as important as us breathing. Get to know your purpose today and start intentionally living it out in your life. LivingTheLife for Christ!
